Volunteer group sharply reduces pet euthanasia in Texas county
Kerrville Pets Alive has cut the number of pets euthanized in Kerr County, Texas, since the nonprofit formed in 2019. The volunteer-run organization keeps pets in homes by funding Kerr County Animal Services and providing animal welfare resources to the community. Karen, who moved to Kerrville 10 years ago after an 8-year career with the United States Attorney's Office as Public Information Officer, joined other animal advocates to launch the group in 2019. All board members serve without compensation. The organization is 100 percent volunteer-run, and every dollar donated helps save animals' lives in the community.
Homeless dogs and cats in Kerr County now have a far better chance of survival.
