Bull goring survivor donates four bullocks to RFDS, raising $9521

A bull goring at Woolston station in September left Julia Creek producer Frank Blacklock with a perforated bowel. The Royal Flying Doctor Service flew him to Townsville Hospital within 12 hours for emergency surgery. On October 14, he and his wife, Robyn, donated four Brahman heavy bullocks at Dalrymple Saleyards, raising $9521 for the service. The bullocks topped the sale at 462c/kg, weighing 515kg. Mr Blacklock said the whole family had used the RFDS.
Mr Blacklock said there is always someone getting hurt in the bush. This was his second RFDS evacuation in recent years, after a broken leg.
