Rugby club raises funds to help Island youngsters

While Ventnor Rugby Club’s 1st XV won their opening game of the season, the club held a brief ceremony. Indra Riches, wife of club president Warren Riches, presented a cheque to Sarah Dunsterville of The Wave Project charity. The money was raised by volunteers led by clubhouse manager Roly Toombs, who provided food and refreshments for participants in the round-the-Island Randonnée cycling event earlier this month. The charity’s award-winning surf therapy courses now help more than 60 youngsters annually.
The fundraising supports The Wave Project’s award-winning surf therapy courses for disadvantaged Island children, helping more than 60 youngsters annually.
