Lake Illawarra dad and children set up kindness hotline, receive 1300 calls

Primary school teacher John Penno and his children, Jack, 8, and Daisy, 5, have set up the Call 4 Kindness Hotline in Lake Illawarra. Callers can dial (02) 3814 5511 at any time to hear one of 40 affirmations recorded by Jack or Daisy. The hotline has received 1300 calls. It grew from messages of affirmation John Penno and his wife, Grace, shared with their children during bedtime. Mr Penno said he hoped the messages could help people reframe their day.
The free hotline gives people a way to hear a message of kindness from a child and access a little support each day.
