Volunteer group cuts euthanasia rates at Texas animal shelter
Kerrville Pets Alive has helped reduce the number of pets euthanized in Kerr County, Texas, since forming in 2019. The all-volunteer nonprofit supports Kerr County Animal Services with funding and volunteers while providing resources to keep pets in homes. Karen, a former public information officer who moved to Kerrville from Houston 10 years ago, joined other advocates to launch the group. The organization operates without paid staff. Board members serve without compensation, and every donated dollar goes to animal welfare.
