Metchosin firefighters rescue domestic goat stranded on cliff ledge

A Metchosin domestic goat spent Sunday night (Oct. 4) stranded on a cliff-face ledge on its owner’s property after tumbling over the edge. Firefighters and trained rope rescue technicians arrived early Monday morning (Oct. 5), assessed the scene and devised a plan to retrieve her safely. Crews descended the cliff face, secured the goat and carefully lowered her to the ground. She was then reunited with her relieved owner.
The rescue returned a stranded goat to safety after she spent the night below the cliff, with Metchosin Fire Department crews working to avoid further injury.
