A double rainbow over Vancouver, and the joy it brings back
Two arcs over a Vancouver street brought an old internet feeling back to life. In 2010, Yosemitebear62's Yosemitebear Mountain Double Rainbow 1-8-10 gave YouTube a pure burst of wonder: one person astonished by two rainbows, with no punchline needed. More than 52 million views later, that moment of raw joy still travels. Timothy R Sexton's photograph is a field note from that same enduring experience.
Early YouTube gave spontaneous moments a way to travel far beyond where they happened. Folklore offers its own reasons to look up: a leprechaun's pot of gold, hope after rain, and the sense that a double rainbow deserves a second look. Those meanings are stories rather than predictions, but the joy is real.
