Three rescued sea turtles returned to Atlantic after UK recovery
Three loggerhead turtles were released into the North Atlantic off the Azores on Tuesday evening after months of rehabilitation in UK aquariums. Crush was found lifeless on a Jersey beach on 19 January following Storm Goretti, suffering from hypothermia and malnourishment. She recovered at Weymouth's Sea Life centre alongside Tiree, rescued in November from Scotland's west coast. Eden, found at Troon in October, was treated at Brighton Sea Life. "There were definitely some tears" from people on the boat, said aquarist Victoria Goodier.
The turtles now have a second chance at life in their natural ocean habitat.
