Robots start checking Hoboken sidewalks for accessibility gaps
Small robots called Daxbots began rolling along Hoboken, New Jersey sidewalks on Monday, July 13, 2026, measuring curb ramps, push buttons, crosswalks and park pathways for accessibility gaps. The federally funded machines move at walking speed, using precision lasers, GPS technology and an inclinometer to record sidewalk width and vertical changes.
