FNUniv students run clothing drive ahead of winter season

Social work students at the First Nations University of Canada Northern campus held a warm clothing drive outside the school grounds Thursday afternoon, collecting coats, jackets, sweaters, pants, blankets, mittens and other essentials for people in need. Volunteers also served hot dogs, coffee, hot chocolate, water and snacks. Student volunteer Nicole Matheis said the event gave the Indigenous social work students a chance to support and learn from their community.
The drive provided warm clothing, food and drinks to vulnerable community members as the weather begins to cool.
