Bystanders perform CPR to save stranded baby otter
Robin Quirk noticed what looked like a wet sock lying on the dock at a marina on August 14, 2026. It turned out to be a baby otter in distress. A crowd gathered, and people took turns performing CPR while others whistled lullabies to keep the pup calm. The otter started breathing again. "A life's a life, no matter what it is," Quirk said.
The otter pup survived because strangers at the marina stopped and did not walk past.
